Ms. Kristen Palmieri, MSW, LCSW

Ms. Palmieri is a Resilience DBT Staff Clinician and an Approved Clinical Social Work Supervisor for the State of New Jersey

She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and provides evidenced-based treatment for Eating Disorder Services and and Mental Health Counseling to children, adolescents, adults, and families.


 

As an Eating Disorder Clinician, Ms. Palmieri works with teens and adults with the full range of eating disorders, anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder and is a firm believer in full and complete recovery is the treatment goal. She advises early intervention and assessment of eating disorders, when prognosis is the best.

She received her training in CBT-E for the Treatment of Eating Disorders, from the Credo-Oxford Institute in the United Kingdom, developed by Christopher Fairburn. Ms. Palmieri is experienced with  Family Based Treatment for Children and adolescents, as well as its impact of siblings and families

Ms. Palmieri received her Foundation Training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy from Behavioral Tech, the training Institute of Marcia Linehan. As a Resilience DBT Therapist, she is committed to DBT as a comprehensive treatment method and prevention tool for emotional dysregulation in children, adolescents, and adults. Ms. Palmieri specializes in treating depressive disorders and anxiety disorders— PTSD, panic, OCD, generalized anxiety and social anxiety. She is skilled in providing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and holds a certificate in Trauma-Based CBT for children and teens. 

Ms. Palmieri believes her greatest strength as a therapist is her capacity for fostering a strong therapeutic rapport with her clients. She believes building relationships based on trust, transparency, and hope, are essential for client growth. Ms. Palmieri provides evidence- based interventions that assist the client in reaching their goals in an empathetic and non-judgmental environment. She believes the most effective way to create change is through collaboration and the utilization of the client’s strengths. Ms. Palmieri is enthusiastic to facilitate positive transformation with her child, teen, and adult clients.
